Later in the week the pupils were delighted to receive a thank you card from Mary on behalf of those who had attended the concert.

P5 have been learning how to make smoothies as part of their topic on health.  Last week each team had to decide which fruit to put into their smoothie.  This week they got to make and taste their new drink!  Each team have also been writing a jingle to help promote their product and learning about food labels so that they can design a food label for their smoothie.

Tell us about your smoothies, P5.

P5 and P5/6 completed their 3 week block of golf lessons. Everyone had a great time and learned lots of new skills including teamwork.  We hope Dawn (Sports Co-ordinator) will be able to visit again soon to give us some more golfing lessons.

P5 and P5/6 have been learning golf with Dawn Fraser our Sports Co-ordinator.  We have been doing it for two weeks and we have one more week to go.

We have been doing lots of different kinds of things and we have all learned the different styles and techniques.  Occasionally, we get to go outside to do golf which we enjoy a lot.  Also when we all have been taking part we have all worked together as a team (collaboratively) which has helped in class too.

It has been very interesting and fun for the P5s becuase they didn’t get to take part last year.  On the other hand this is the second time for the P6s to try it out.

Last week the P1s had a very special visitor when Isla’s mum took Petty the lamb to school!

Isla had a little lamb,
Little lamb, little lamb,
Isla had a little lamb,
Its fleece was white as snow

Everywhere that Isla went,
Isla went, Isla went,
Everywhere that Isla went
The lamb was sure to go

It followed her to school one day
School one day, school one day
It followed her to school one day
Which was against the rules.

It made the children laugh and play,
Laugh and play, laugh and play,
It made the children laugh and play
To see a lamb at school.

Forest School Review

Today we were at Forest School.  When we got there we had to do the safety check.  It is quite boring but we had to do it anyway.  Then we had to look for some creatures for our tub.  Then we set off to our camp.  On the way there I saw an old pile of wood and I thought there might be some creatures in it.
Then we lifted some bits of bark off it and we found some woodlice, dung beetle, centipede and spiders.  then we set off to camp.  At last we were there and me and Kyle light the fire and wow it was a big one.  There was a lot of smoke there.  Then I had to help Mrs Reiss make the shelter it was hard work.  Then at last it was break time.  I had been working so hard I deserved my break and we had marshmallow and chocolate chip bread.  It was lovely.  After we had to put the fire out and packed up.  Off we went back to school.  I enjoyed today because it was fun.  Lewis S
Today in Forest School we were catching bugs and putting them in a jar.  I caught two male slugs, a centipede and a female slug.  We also roasted marshmallows and chocolate chip bread over the fire.  Nathan

HELP!  PLANTS WANTED!

Would anyone who has spare plants, cuttings and seeds from their gardens, please pass them into the school?  The school gardening club would LOVE to plant them to brighten up the playground.

Thank you very much!
