As part of our topic on Health, P4 and P5 are learning about the wider community and how we can contribute to helping others. Each Thursday a small group of pupils will be visiting Urray House (a local care home) to spend time talking to the residents. Last week Mr Blackie, the manager of Urray House, came to talk to us about some of the aids the older residents use to help them remain as independent as possible. We had great fun trying to work out what the chair raisers were for!
Our citizenship groups met for the first time this term. Visit the Citizenship Group page to find out what all the groups have been up to.
Forest Schools met for the first time this term on Wednesday. Everyone had great fun making a fire and toasting marshmallows. Some of the group even got to help chop branches off the trees.
The playground committee cleared up the “mud bath” at the P4/5 door during the Easter holidays. A BIG thanks to all the parents who came to help. And an extra big thanks to Mr McGruar and his mini digger who made the job A LOT easier!! Grass seed and new bushes are in at the moment so thanks for all your patience in helping it grow!
We would really love for the ground to be filled with plants. IF ANY ONE HAS PLANTS, CUTTINGS OR DONATIONS FROM THEIR OWN GARDEN PLEASE HAND THEM INTO THE SCHOOL. The gardening club are waiting to plant them!!

On Monday 20th April, Primary 5 enjoyed a fantastic trip to Fort George and Culloden Battlefield as part of our topic on the Jacobites. We all had a wonderful day and learned lots of interesting facts and infomation. Thanks to Danni, Daniel and Alex’s mums who came along to help us. Thanks also to Mrs Ross.
“Today was great on the trip to Culloden. I enjoyed it very much.” Brandon
“Today we went on a school trip to Fort George and Culloden Battlefield. It was really fun and the best part was that we didn’t have to go to school. We got to take our cameras to take pictures as well. We got to see a film about what it was like in the battle. I thought the Redcoat soldier was a bit mean because he was going to shut Lewis and Alex in the prison but then he said he was joking.” Lewis G
“I really enjoyed going to Fort George and Culloden Battlefield. The best part was when Captain James Chisholm showed us everything about the Redcoats and their weapons, food and fighting tactics.” Callum
“My favourite thing was the Redcoats school. I got to try on a hat and I liked it when we saw a movie.” Chris G
“I really enjoyed Fort George the most and looking at how the Redcoats lived and the battle. I liked it when we went to the Culloden Battlefield and people in the class dressed up. The most exciting part was watching the film.” Cailin
“I liked our trip today. It was great fun. I liked all of it. The movie in Culloden was good and Fort George was fun!” Amber
