Megan and Laura from Primary 4 tell us what they’ve been up to in their class.

P1 wrote Science reports about waterproof materials. We used peer assessment to mark each other’s writing.
Kelsey and Robert from the ICT Group interviewed Mr Ferguson.
What kind of things do you do around the school?
I open the school in the morning, I supervise in the playground at playtime and lunch time. I pick up litter and check that the there are hand towels in all the toilets. These are just some of the things I do.
What time do you start and finish work?
I’m at school for about 7.30am each morning. I usually finsih about 5 o’clock but I often have to come back to school to open and close it for groups who are using the school in the evening.
Have you ever been a janitor before?
Yes, I used to work at Dingwall Academy.
What is good about being a janitor?
You’re kept going all the time. Seeing the children growing up.
What is the worst part of your job?
When I have to take thinks out of the toilet and sinks that shouldn’t be there. When people leave the taps running and flood the place.
What’s your favourite duty?
I like playground duty because you get a laugh with the kids.

On Tuesday 24th February Primary 1 had a great time making and eating pancakes! Next week they are going to write instructions on how to make pancakes. We look forward to reading your instructions, Primary 1!

Our topic this term is WWII. One of our homework tasks was to design and make an Anderson air raid shelter. What do you think of our work?
Our Suggestion Box is located in the GP room near the Cool School Wall. If you have any ideas/suggestions for the Pupil Council please use the paper and pens provided and put your suggestion in the box. Don’t forget to put your name and class on the paper.

We are supporting Red Nose Day. Red Noses will be on sale soon.
On Thursday and Friday Paula and Emma from Highland Council’s Waste Management Department came to talk to all the classes about reducing, reusing and recycling. Emma and Paula showed us pictures and told us lots of information. We got to play a really fun quiz and then we all played a great game. All the classes found Paula and Emma’s visit really interesting and informative.
What did you learn?
It was the ICT Group’s responsibility to present assembly today. They did a super job explaining all about the different things they have been up to. What confident individuals you all are! What did you think of the ICT assembly?
