Ellie and Eilidh tell us about some of the things they’re up to in P3.

“We’ve been making Celtic helmets as part of our topic on the Celts.  We had to work in trios.” Eilidh

“We are learning about 3D shapes.  We know the names of all the shapes on display in our class.  We found shapes at home to bring to school for our display.  James made a castle out of 3D shapes.” Ellie

“We have a pretend house in our class.  We call it Grandma’s Cottage because this is the name of our classroom.  We do our language work in this room.  We are allowed to go into the cottage to do reading.” Eilidh

“We are learning about poetry.”  Ellie

Well done to our successful candidates Jordan MacPhee and Daniel Mackinnon who have been nominated by Ord to become joint vice-captains.  The voters could not choose between them!  During  their short election speeches they both convinced the audience of their eagerness to help the team.  We wish them both good luck in their new role!

One of the Eco Group’s targets is to improve the Health and Wellbeing of our school community.  During discussions on how to achieve this, our group mentioned GMTV and Mr Motivator, a new character to everyone except Mrs Smith, a fan from years gone by.

It was suggested he may be able to motivate the group with new ideas which could then lead to Eco members working with groups during break and lunchtimes or even as a regular slot within the class.  A few of the pupils emailed GMTV with their request.  And the response?  GMTV visited our school only 5 days after sending the emil!!!

The pupils who took part had a great time:

‘I enjoyed being on GMTV doing exercise with Mr Motivator.  I thought it was a great idea to show the school that keeping fit and eating healthily is fun.  And it was also fun being on TV.’

Iona A P7

‘I really enjoyed going on GMTV and getting ‘motivated’ I liked speaking to the presenters and meeting Michelle, a lady who helped with all the electronics.  I really liked it!’

Rachel A P7

‘It was great being on GMTV with Mr Motivator.  I was surprised we got picked but the main thing was I loved it.!

Struan P7

‘It was fun to be on TV and the people from GMTV were nice to us but it was also hard going.’

If you saw us on GMTV what did you think?
